The EMU Jet Mill stands for a high-technology approach
to micronizing.
EMU
fine grinding technology is at its best when fine
powders (<50 µm) are produced.
There are several obvious advantages that favor EMU
DT opposed jet mills:
- suitable for various powders
- low total costs
- contamination free products
- applicable to heat sensitive powders
- possibility to join processes
Various powders can be micronized as long
as they are brittle enough to break under particle collisions.
Material hardness can vary from 1 to 9 on Mohs scale.
Low total costs (investment + energy + maintenance)
are due to efficient grinding itself and also due
to usage of special construction materials. Energy
savings could be up to 60% compared to other jet mills.
Contamination free products are based on autogenous
grinding and usage of wear resistant materials at
critical places
Heat sensitive powders can be processed since
temperature rise during grinding is minimal (<
5-10 C). If required powder can be cooled down
before feeding it into the mill.
Joint processes can be used when e.g. drying
or powder modification is done simultaneously with
micronizing.
